We are a small but mighty charity that empowers youth to build their communities through volunteer and leadership programs. Our programs build confidence, leadership, social connections, and life skills that support resilience, mental health, and employability. At Youth Central, youth take the reins, working shoulder to shoulder with staff to ensure our programs are relevant, inclusive, and accessible.
Each year, we engage over 2,200 Calgary youth (ages 12–18), with 35% being newcomers to Canada and 74% racialized. Our participants include high achievers alongside those facing financial hardship, mental health challenges, or justice system involvement. The beauty of our programs is that youth learn as much from each other as they do from us.
